Oh okay! So it's unfair that my wife gets to take special prescribed prenatal vitamins while I have to eat the regular non-natal store bought ones? She gets a free STD test while I don't? She gets to be closely monitored by a staff of professional medical people and they aren't interested in my belly at all? On the big day she might get a free hospital meal and bed while I have to sleep on the couch without a pillow and they don't feed mel? Worse still I have to drive her to the hospital only to be treated like a second class citizen when I get there? I fill out the paperwork. I speak on her behalf. I get her water or ice chips or juice and I'm not allowed any of it for myself.

Does she get this special treatment because she's female or because she's pregnant? On whose behalf does she get this special treatment hers or the baby inside of her?

This is a men's right issue as much as not advertising tampons to men is a men's rights issue.

These are medical procedures designed to facilitate maximum health for the patient and you are equating it to a fucking bribe. The incentive to stop smoking while pregnant is nothing more than encouraging behavior that any sane mother would already do if they are not ignorant of being pregnant.

No, because you're making bullshit up. There's a difference between priorities and equal treatment under the law.

An apt analogy, I think, would to compare paying the mother not to poison the fetus to paying a parent not to deprive a child of life necessities (healthy food, social interaction, basic hygiene).

Concerning men's rights (which is in pursuit of equality) this is blatant inequality, just like other gender specific incentives (scholarships) and gender quotas. Women are getting advantages just for being women. If it were men, people would bitch until the cows come home. Thus the complaint that men are treated in an unfair manner compared to women in some cases.

None of what we listed, except maybe the drawing of blood in order to do the STD test, is a medical procedure; infact, none of them are a medical nessessity and they are equally optional and provided free of cost (except for the vitimines) to a pregnant woman for the direct benifit of the baby. Does that sound familiar?

This scheme doesn't apply to nonpregnant woman as much as it doesn't apply to nonpregnant men so equal treatment under the law is upheld - it applies solely to people smoking while carrying a baby in their womb.

As I've said these "medical procedures" of yours are just as optional as your optional sanitary goods analogy except the government pays for one while private industry pays for the other and neither of them apply to males - we don't have a female reproductive system - infact, our reproductive system is the defined difference between males and females.

It applies to nonpregnant females as much as it applies to nopregnant males so I don't know how you can argue that it's inequality without also arguing that tampon commercials are the same because they only focus on females and that's just not what your brand of equality is about.

Edit: To be clear here I'm not for this scheme and I believe this scheme is a horrible waste of taxpayers money. It's a taxpayer's issue not a men's rights issue.

Not every difference is inequality you idiot. We are a sexually dimorphic species (need that explained?). I dismissed your tampon bullshit yet you keep bringing it up like it is relevant. Men don't need it and it's optional for women. It is not a required product for healthy and safety, taking a shower and changing your clothes will have the same effect.

The reproductive system is not the only thing that differentiates both sexes, perhaps you know about the differences of skeletal structure, muscular mass, the way we think, etc. Also, how males treat women, giving them freebies like this incentive.

So using your logic we shouldn't bitch when our money, paid to the government, doesn't actually benefit us as it should. It is also a women's issues, or better known as a human issue. You seem to have a very difficult time keeping my thoughts in their context and most of what you typed is trivial because of it. Free of charge for example - who do you think it's free of charge to? Perhaps the person getting the drugs? Keep things in context and you will not have this sorts of difficulties.

The patient that gets the benefit in this scheme is the baby not the mother (at least as much as any of the other things I listed which you don't consider men's rights issues) so saying "These are medical procedures designed to facilitate maximum health for the patient" when approving prenatal vitamins seems stupid when you don't also support the smoking cessation scheme. Vitamins taken on the baby's behalf is the same as smoking cessation done on the baby's behalf and all free of charge (let me be clear here for your sake) to the pregnant person. Blah blah blah you don't pay a higher premium when getting the vitamins so it would seem the insurance company's shareholders are taking the hit unless you've not taken full advantage of your insurance, for example, I don't get massages and don't need therapy so it all kinda works out doesn't it?

The equivalent of sperm is not a baby it's an unfertilized egg so offering it to men because of sperm doesn't apply does it? Not even when a man has less muscle mass than a woman does his sperm become something like a baby nope still just a sperm and the woman with her unfertilized egg (not a baby either) gets the exact same treatment as the man.

Can you see how a man might benefit from something that helps foster healthy babies? Men aren't parental caregivers? We don't have a dog in the race when it comes to a pregnant woman and a healthy fetus? Naw, we're all about men and manly things like skeletal structures, building muscular mass, and thinking differently than women!

I bet that there's a ton of things you pay for that you don't use when it comes to taxation and luckily we have a system that provides for you to have your say in it. When it comes to your turn - suggest that it's encouraging to see that 400 dollars helps pregnant woman quit smoking, recommend that more studies need to be done to see why it's effective, and based on those studies offer a cheaper alternative.

To sum up: Prenatal vitamins given to a pregnant woman for the benefit of the baby at no cost to her but at an additional cost to men (not fathers because they don't exist in your little world) that pay insurance premiums is not a men's rights issue, but a smoking cessasion scheme for the benefit of the baby at no cost to her but at an additional cost to men (again, men aren't caregivers! no no no!) that pay taxes is a men's rights issue.
