I'm glad you listed this as satire... I wouldn't have been able to tell, otherwise.

There are apparently even jails in Australia with full 24/7 child care services just so children can remain with their incarcerated mothers full-time. Not even kidding.

All these links based off a quick google search or two, and about 10 minutes of effort.

i doubt much that is satire...

When i went through my divorce my wife got custody. She was in jail for assault on me and a police officer. She has a history of threatining sucide. I even had a letter from here where she said that i wwon't ever have the kids she would rather sit in jail (she did not say for what) then let me have them.

on the flip side. I am the primary caregiver. i am disabled (the reason the judge claimed i cant have the kids) and so the stay at home parent. I am the one that raised them from birth to (at the time) 5 and 9.\

guess who got custody? if you said the wife you win NOTHING! ahh

though it did turn out in my favor. My ex ended up letting me have the kids 90% of the time. she just wanted child support and the tax break etc.
