In celebration of this sub having reached 100,000 subscribers, I'd like to introduce a men's rights drinking game.

A Motte and Bailey was a medieval fortification characterized by a desirable but poorly defended bailey and an easily defended motte. The inhabitants would prefer to spend their time in the bailey, but if attacked by an overwhelming force they would move to the otherwise useless motte, ride out the attack there, and come back down to the bailey after the attackers gave up. So what does that have to do with feminism? It's a pretty good analogy for a common philosophical doctrine employed by feminists, whereby they constantly move the goal posts between a useful position that they'd like to maintain and a useless position that's easier to defend. So here are the rules to the game. Every time you notice a feminist retreating to her motte, you drink. Every time she comes back down to the bailey, you drink. Same for male feminists. To get us started, here are some examples of feminist mottes and baileys from the top of my head:

Mansplainers & NAFALT

  • Bailey - Never allow criticism of feminism in any way. Attack those who do.

  • Motte - When cornered, proclaim that not all feminists are like that.

Sexism & Benevolent Sexism

  • Bailey - Claim that sexism is a zero-sum game where men "systemically" oppress women.

  • Motte - When cornered, proclaim that Patriarchy hurts men too.

Women's Safe Space & The Dictionary Definition

  • Bailey - Claim that men have no place within feminism

  • Motte - When cornered, proclaim that the dictionary defines feminism as equality between the sexes

Eliot Rogers & Why Can't We All Get Along?

  • Bailey - Lie about men's rights activists and refuse to acknowledge any of their issues

  • Motte - When cornered, proclaim we all have the same goals and blame MRA's burning bridges

Wage Gap & Witch Burnings

  • Bailey - Claim that that women are currently oppressed in many ways that men and boys are not

  • Motte - When cornered, proclaim that women have been oppressed for thousands of years
