Doesn't really say anything about the content. For example, Alien is a brilliant film and it has a stronk female lead. Legally Blonde is a terrible film and it also has a stronk female lead.

May as well advertise with "Includes Mexicans!!"

Only 19 of the 42 films to be shown have been given an 'F' rating. So that is marginally under 50%.

Obviously, if the female is strong by the same means men usually are (physical strength for instance) this proves that the film considers masculine values as strong, and feminines as weak, and use a strong female character as a shield agaisnt feminist criticism. If the character is strong because of typically feminine traits (human relation for instance) the film reenforce preexisting stereotypes and therefore is sexist. If this is because of non gendered values, the film refused to take a stance against sexism and therefore, is not worthy of the label.

This is just the Bath Film Festival.

The MPAA will never adopt this; it would reduce their revenues by causing men to avoid F-rated movies.
