Men of the men's rights movement, do other men make you feel invisible/expendable?

I think that society tends to belittle the problems of men and boys, especially if there is a corresponding issue affecting women or girls, e.g. circumcision-FGM, domestic violence, custody after divorce. Likewise, male expendability is best seen in comparison with the value placed on women and girls and their interests. The idea of 'women and children first' does not exclude men, it just puts them at the back of the queue.

I personally, do not feel expendable, but I see the above attitudes affecting the futures of boys and young men, and I have seen many men who have lost their bearings in life because they allowed their self worth to depend on their utility. This is tragic and unnecessary, and of no benefit to anyone, including women and girls. This is why I have a growing interest in the MRM.

As for what men can do, calm, rational discussion, listening, sharing information especially if it's positive, ie resources that can help men help themselves, challenging assumptions, particularly that masculinity is the problem. On occasion anger is perfectly justified, and if it causes offence then so be it.

The things men need not do, are to resort to lies and manipulated statistics, or a permanent claim to victimhood.

Reflexively place women's interests above mine. Assume, relatively speaking, that I merit any circumstance I find myself in. Feel relatively free to assault me or place me in harm's way or in general, sacrifice me. Consider me more likely to lie than any woman would be. Grant women extrordinary license to assault and abuse me. Associate my gender with criminality, evil, wrong-doings, and puppy-dog tails. Reinforcing these injustices by volunteering to be victims of it themselves, and then romanticizing it.

Stop using gender as a stand-in for real conditions. If you're concerned about relative body-size, then say so rather than using gender as a (redundant and imperfect) middle-"man". Stop assuming that privilege can be summarized by examining genitals; it can't (aka. contemporary phrenology). Stop volunteering to sacrifice yourself then associating it with duty. Stop thinking there are grounds for exempting women from physical violence--they are no more or less inherently worthy than I am. Stop promoting the idea that women face greater obstructions and challenges than men in our society, they don't--and certainly stop holding me indebted to women because of this manufactured (not to mention romantic) inequality. Stop viewing yourself as a servant for women's interests. Stop valourizing the mystique of the male in service to women. Stop defining yourself by women's approval and start worrying about the approval of men as well.

I'm a man but I present no obvious utility, so I'm beneath the notice of people who don't know me personally.
Discovering this subreddit and its affiliate sites made me realise that some people would understand things about me, and that they believe I deserve compassion, respect and equal treatment under the law just because I'm a man, no caveats.

hell yes it is one of the core factors surrounding how men are treated for ..throughout history, and where we are today in our feminist, hyper special treatment of women society...once again men and their feelings are forgotten and shamed and treated like utter shit. their lives are almost meaningless unless they are doing something productive, if they aren't they are shamed and held suspect or thrown in jail for being a debtor or retarded or being accused of something... bottom line is men's lives and feelings are ignored and expendable , that will likely never change no matter how many little groups try to change it.

Almost every man I've ever known has thrown me under the bus in order to garner the favor of a woman. So yeah...most of them are still plugged in, and aren't ready to be unplugged.

Yes. Bullies and little Hitler authoritarians and assorted white knight cunts do. But mostly, regular guys don't.

Mostly it's women who treat men as disposable in proportion as each sees herself as a princess who is entitled to the 5 D's just because she exists: drinks, dates, driving, dinner, and a diamond.
