Women are not taught that hitting a man is wrong. People laugh at it or even encourage it. Men are quickly taught that violence is unacceptable, especially if aimed towards a woman... but many women are not made to learn that lesson.

So many people think women are not a threat at all, and can't possibly do any harm to a man. They think a woman's violent attacks, even when using a weapon, are simply for show and that a man is never in real physical danger. Therefore they believe there's no excuse for any self defense, even as light as pushing the woman away from him.

Yes, the size and strength of the two people has to be taken into account. Yes, the force of the self defense has to be taken into account.... for instance, Ray Rice severely overreacted and he should be punished for it.

But to act like it's perfectly fine for women to commit whatever violence they want, but men are evil abusers if they employ any level of self defense just because of what type of genitals he has (regardless of whether it's a short/elderly/skinny man defending himself from a much larger/stronger woman) ... that's just bullshit.

While I agree that women should not hit men. I disagree with the article. If someone spits in your face it would be natural to respond to that. From what I can see he is the aggressor by far. He spit in her face. She responded by hitting him. They then get on the elevator and he stands really close up on her and appears to say something or spit, again. She then starts trying to hit him as he moves away. It does not appear any of her swats at him actually land. Than you see him punch her and she falls. it doesn't end there. Even though she is out cold, he doesn't seem concerned. He than drags her out of the elevator, her skirt up. Kicks her a few times while she's out. (Please explain why anyone would kick their significant other while they are out cold. Clearly, the fight is over at that point. Any claim that one is defending them self from a person who is out cold is a joke)? The strangers that appear in the video appear more concerned than he is....

It might be that she backhanded him, it's not as clear as this article implies, and I don't even see Ray Rice saying that's the case.

Dosent matter. Men cannot hit women point blank or they are criminals Period. I had an argument with my mother on this. My mom asked: what if she's got a deadly weapon like a knife and trying to stab you? My response is: she will not have a scratch on her, and i will be a dead man period! It's not fair but fuck it, apparently it's what society wants.
