I can't think of a single major conflict in the past ten thousand years where women were forced to fight with their lives instead of men.

Of course it is a false narrative. If you look at the historical record ancient societies were rather more complex than that. It would be closer to say that societies often imposed roles on men and women that were disadvantageous to the individual but generally beneficial to the society as a whole. Most men and women lost out but feminists like to tell us that only the women were shafted.

This notion that "women were oppressed for thousands of years" has always struck me as profound cognitive dissonance. To assert that "oppression of women" by men went on, in every culture around the globe, for thousands of years implies that either:

A.) women had to be inferior to men to be oppressed that long, or
B.) half the population would have to willingly participate in their own "oppression" for "thousands of years", especially in times of war when the male population was less numerous due to casualties, and the "tyranny of men" could have been overthrown.

I love it! She has no real defense so she resorts to:

Well she wouldn't have been asked the question except for sexism (irrelevant),
The media is dominated by men (also irrelevant), and
it's ok because women have it worse ("first world problem" fallacy-the idea that a problem is not real because somebody somewhere else has worse problems)

It's not ok, but it is factual that women have been oppressed for thousands of years. Hell, they still are overseas, it's just that here in the US they have achieved equal opportunity and yet still complain.
