In the article in question at the NYT they mention in passing that one of the men accused of rape by the woman stated that she raped him. There was never any investigation whatsoever into his claim, either by the college or the police. And yet the Times article doesn't ask why, at the same time as it picks over every detail of the investigation of the woman's claim.

I served as a student representative alongside faculty on my university's judicial board. We heard testimony and rendered judgements about beer in the dorms, people pulling fire alarms, vandalism, etc.

But rape? That warrants an investigation by the local authorities and criminal justice professionals. Not a collegiate "tribunal".

This person that worked as a "student representative alongside faculty on my university's judicial board" is apparently unaware that schools are required by law under Title IX to investigate and punish claims of rape or lose federal funding.. This is the only crime for which schools are required to investigate and punish students. It is sadly apparent that education regarding this fact is still lacking.

Walk a Mile in her Shoes

I want to go to one of these, but wear boots, and when asked why the hell I am doing this, whip out a scroll on the statistics regarding the number of men who are victims of sexual assault and rape.

And I'll walk the continent if I have to. Because fuck your exclusionary campaigns, that's why.

I will stop saying 'but men' when you assholes stop making rape and sexual assault a gendered issue.

NYT is the liberal of liberal outlets so its not surprising that they attacking colleges that dare to acquit men accused of rape (all men are guilty based on accusation alone after all).

They are also the only outlet that continued to attack the Duke Lacrosse boys AFTER they had all charges dropped against them.
