One of the explanations that that frequently comes up when discussing why less attractive women have inflated egos in dating is the idea that they have easy access to Chad. A counter to this that comes up is the question of why Chad (the man with endless options) would even bother with them. The answers range anywhere from "he's having a dry spell' to "he has to put in more effort for more attractive women and so bats lower" but none of them sit right with me. According to lore women are literally holding out for him and will throw themselves at him the moment he looks their direction. The effort required to get them has to be minimal (i.e non-existent). If he's getting enough resistance from women to force him to go for less attractive ones what is the real advantage of being him?

One might wonder what's the point of even striving to be like Chad. If he still has to scrape the bottom of the barrel then it hardly seems worth it to be him. Why put in the effort if your status as "Chad" can't filter for the type of women you actually want? At that point your still a beggar (the most attractive beggar), taking whatever scrapes women throw at you.
