I got divorced about 4 years ago. At the time of divorce I was emotionally distraught and vulnerable. She basically dropped the divorce bombshell on me on Mother’s Day of all days. It was out of nowhere. Granted, we had been having some issues but it wasn’t anything we couldn’t work out. Basically she divorced me because I was I the way of her ‘obtaining’ her dreams. I hadn’t done anything that I felt deserved getting a divorce. I only say that for a bit of context.

I paid for the divorce attorney (her attorney) that filled all the paperwork with the court. As part of the decree I was put on the hook for half of all the following: (this is in addition to child support) School expenses Medical bills Extracurricular activities Car expenses

My question is, does this seem reasonable? Isn’t my child support supposed to cover these? Her ‘half’ is coming out of my child support so, in a sense, I am paying 100%. Isn’t that kind of messed up?

Should I take her back to court to have the decree amended?
