Hey fam,

Just sharing this talk I came across on youtube that has a mention of two interesting things I thought worth sharing.

  1. There is an ongoing petition for presumption of shared parenting. This basically means default shared parenting (50/50) if there is no abuse etc. This has been defeated in parliament again but good to see continued efforts in this direction.
  2. Found a paper that says intimate partner violence (IPV) is a byproduct when men feel they have no recourse due to unfairness of the system. Still its not a justification for IPV and needs to be called out no matter the circumstances. But it shows that it's also a system's problem. When divorce laws are made fair, IPV also reduces.
