So the wife and I have decided to divorce. I'm the main breadwinner (140k before deductions, taxes, etc) and stbxw has a side photography business which made her 8k last year. We have 2 kids (6 and 9), a house, 2 cars (1 paid and 1 with a 20k balance). No debt besides the house and car. This is a mutual decision and we've been married about 10.5 years and have decided to give mediation a try. It was her suggestion honestly and from what I can see, it seems like a better route than obtaining lawyers. We live in Los Angeles and would appreciate any advice on looking for a mediator or some recommendations. Any useful information is appreciated. We are on good terms and we respect each other. Our goal is to do what's best for the kids and come to a fair deal that works for both us. Here's to hoping that all this ends well and our kids aren't affected to much by this. We do plan on living near each other for the kids.
