I am looking for some feedback. My ex and I divorced in August 2020. We had come to a custody agreement outside of the court system and submitted the agreement when we filed for divorce. I made custody concessions that I should not have. Giving her full custody of our 2 yr old daughter. She had military orders to Hawaii and I was employed by the government at the time. Emotionally I caved and gave her custody that was supposed to be temporary and revisited after her yr long orders were up. That never happened. I continued to pay our agreed upon child support for the next four yrs and paying all travel and activities cost when I would go visit my daughter wherever she happened to be located. Post divorce I moved on to a relationship and we had a surprise pregnancy. My second kid was born late 2021. Early 2022 Fiancé, son, and I moved across the country to North Carolina. Early the following yr my ex wife moved to Virginia on military orders. I was happy to once again be closer geographically to my daughter. We had more frequent visits and I made requests to my ex wife about adjusting our custody agreement. I wanted to be more involved in my daughter's life. I never intended to not have custody of my daughter permanently. Ex wife and I went back and forth about this resulting in her shutting down any conversation about adjusting the custody agreement. To add to the frustration she would not keep me updated on my daughter's schools, activities, or medical visits or concerns. According to my ex living in Virginia was supposed to be a permanent situation. I started piling money for a lawyer and out of the blue I receive a text from my ex saying she was moving to Texas. I was blindsided by this. I immediately went and filed for the orders to be filed in the state of Virginia and filed to have a order modification hearing. At the hearing I was informed that our daughter was a not considered a resident of Virginia despite having attended Kindergarten there. The case was closed and I was advised to pursue it in Texas. Fast forward to now. For the past yr and a half I have been saving money for what I anticipate being a fight in court. I have stopped making complete child support payments as I have noticed that the money is not going to my daughter. On top of that I now have major expenses just to see my daughter. My ex just yesterday asked me for back pay or the full amount for the month of December, stating that she is now pulling from her savings just to pay bills. To add to my frustration she went and bought a brand new truck and new build home. All done when I was consistently paying child support. Meanwhile when I visit my daughter I have to replace her clothes that are to small for her or have major where and tear. (Been this way from the beginning with my daughter's clothes) I'm frustrated and angry with my ex. Now she has shown me that none of what I give in support actually goes to our daughter. What should I do st this point?
