Dad, when you come home?

I was asked that question and I had no answer. I couldn't tell them the truth, they won't understand. It still haunts me to this day and I think will forever. All I can say now is I do the best for them I can so they know I am still there and one day when they have partners and goes through life maybe they will understand but again hopefully never. Divorce is not good on anyone.

Yeah it sucks. Divorce with kids aint easy. There is no right way. Best you can do is to keep "friends" with coparent and just tell in neutral way your not boyfriend / girlfriend any more, but you still love your children and it not their fault.

Solidarity with you, mate. My 5 year old asked me the same question only 2 days ago. It broke my heart, too. Because there's nothing you can say. Despite me repeatedly asking my ex to have a conversation together with her and explain it, they won't, because that requires accountability. So it's left to me to speak with her myself and try to help her little mind process it.

I'm sorry, man. It's really so hard.
