Not always. Mine knew the judge and was friends with him. With that being said, he was scared and was by the book with timelines while my wife’s lawyer was screwing around and got away with crap.

Most small town or county courts, every practicing lawyer in the area knows the judge and donated to their campaign.

I always try to steer clients to the attorneys who vacation together with the judge.
