I hired a stupid female lawyer for my divorce case in NJ, she was not ready during the early settlement panel and she was empathetic with my ex wife and said during the discussion that my ex can not pay her portion of the debt, the panel was against me all time because I am high income than her and I have opportunity to grow but she isn’t. So, they increased the alimony and the payment term, after the panel she called me and I told her what I understood about the payment term and she confirmed my understanding which was changed after she joined a call with the judge without me. Then she send me an email contradicting with what we discussed and I told her no deal and then she tried to tell me that the judge will determine that i am the bad guy in this case, tried to call her but no answer. I need to know if I should get a new lawyer to represent me or represent my self, or accept the fact. This is an intentional marriage but because I stayed for 2 years in NJ the Judge considered this as civil union. Also, the lawyer told me I am not entitled for the lodging cost after my wife at this time locked me out. Please help asap, I am losing my mind. Also, advise with good lawyer can accept low retainer if going for another lawyer is a good idea .
