I recently saw attachment styles mentioned somewhere, which reminded me that I took a quiz on that in the first stages of serious issues in my marriage. This was during the stage when my ex was taking all sort of quizzes/tests and asking me to as well. I'm not sure if she was trying to prove to herself that we were incompatible or what. Who knows, who cares.

Anyway, I looked back and saw that I was anxious/fearful avoidant type at that time. That doesn't seem like me, but it feels like a snapshot in time of one of the hardest (if not the hardest) parts of my life when I was doing just about anything I could to save my marriage. Fast forward to today, 2 months post divorce and living on my own, I retook the quiz out of curiosity. My attachment style was secure with high self esteem. This feels like a wild change, but actually fits what I'm feeling internally.

I don't care about dating right now at all, focusing on myself and my kids. I'm really just figuring out what I want in life and giving myself room to do it. Unlimited gym time on a day without the kids? Do it! Taking the dog for a super long walk with no end in mind? For sure.

Long story short, if you took any of these types of evals when you were married or going through the hard times, you should retake them and see where you land today. Could be really insightful and helpful to put the pain in perspective.

Have a great weekend boys
