My lawyer is an ass.

I have an offer from the JDC that is mostly fair, but OC reserved one issue for trial just to make things difficult. Prove some premarital assets that she knows are mine but are so old I’ll have a time and expense to do it.

My lawyer pushed for a shit deal for me and let ex off on her claims to premarital assets. He is weak and won’t stand up to OC.

I want to resolve without trial but can’t give this issue up. This isn’t a matter of principle.

If my lawyer keeps being an ass and can’t get this resolved without trial I will seek other counsel, but don’t want to blow up the entire settlement. How long do I have to accept JSC offer once it’s filed?

My ideal would be to have my lawyer present evidence to OC and say “good enuf to settle this without trial?”

Second would be to pull in other lawyer to do that or handle matter at trial.
