My ex and family court are laying waste to me and I'm breaking. 3 hearings, each one the judge takes her word and beats me down for something. We have a 3-foot high stack of filings already. My lawyer says this is a one in a thousand case. After our last hearing I was angry--she has defied every court order, has turned my kids against me, I'm not seeing them and when I do they let me know how much they hate me. Mediation failed. Ex keeps throwing out offers to settle that are great for her, lets her hide or misreport assets, leaves me with less than the state minimum parent time. I walked into our last hearing thinking finally my luck would turn since she defied the last court order. Judge did not care, questioned me on everything, took her word whenever she spoke. Did not blink when OC said the kids were staying with her and I tried to get in that ex was gatekeeping, except to say that maybe I shouldn't get child support. I walked into that hearing ready. Today I just feel trampled to shit. Lawyer reviewed my options with me after: the first was fight this to trial, and I stopped him and said that's what I was going to do. I've got nothing to lose at this point. Now I don't think I can stick it out. I see this dragging on at least 1.5 years, maybe 2. At the end my kids will be late teens. If the hearings I've had are any indication, I may not get half our assets (what have been reported even), my kids will hardly have seen me, I'll have $60k or more in legal fees. I just don't see the point. I don't know what I'm fighting for, and even if I did I don't think I stand a chance of getting anything in the end, or anything in the interim.
