I’m in the process of mediating with my ex. Married 4 years, one daughter, wife’s decision to separate.

We are working on a financial settlement. During the marriage we were roughly equal in terms of income from our jobs and in terms of splitting the family expenses. However, I have a bunch of real estate holdings which I purchased prior to the marriage and which I’ve sold some portion of and rolled into new investments during our marriage.

And she has racked up over $40k in credit card debt. She says this debt is largely due to her share of our expenses and is asking that I help her out by paying down $30k of this debt. I have no idea how she possibly accrued this much debt nor do I care.

Earlier in our separation , I cared enough about her that I would help. But today, I want to tell her to fuck off. What would you do?
