Long time lurker here, first post - hoping for some advice. I appreciate it all.

Married currently for almost a decade, separated physically (not legally) but divorce is finally moving forward.

Recently my soon to be ex emptied the last of our savings (higher end of 5 figure amount) and left me high and dry just as I am moving to file, which leaves me with a very big problem when it comes to lump sum retainer fees - she makes at least 5 times the amount per annum that I do and i am really worried about fees mounting up if i file. Anyone have any experience as the lesser earning spouse when it comes to procuring this? Bank loan? Friends & family? What do you do? We also have a very young child in the mix and i’m worried to death. Trying to keep my chin up.
