First, sorry to ding you on your writing. But it really helps if you don't put your entire situation into one long run-on sentence.

Next, something doesn't add up. You claim you're making $18 an hour? This is a regular full-time job? Then you should gross 3120 a month by my math. If you were paying $900 a month, that's about 29% of your gross pay, and that sounds reasonable. Not fair, but in the context of Family Court, that's reasonable.

OK, so your ex filed for a modification. On what grounds? You should have been given a copy of the paperwork. It should say something like, "Child support should be increased for these reasons: X, Y and Z."

What are those reasons? What's the justification?

If you're really now paying $1900 a month (on a gross salary of $3120), that's about 61%. That's completely unfair and illegal. Are there arrears in there? Something, somewhere is causing a big offset.

But if you're telling us that, straight-up, you pay 61% of your gross towards child support, then the court has made a huge mistake. And only the court can fix it. If you can't afford a lawyer, check with the court clerk to see if there's Legal Aid or a Friend of the Court. No one wants you to fall behind. Perhaps there was a clerical error in the order. Does the new order give a justification?
