I have never experienced so much greed coming from the opposite side. The STBX and her attorney. One RPD after another. Even misreading transactions because of their filter and bias. Chasing any avenue they can in their quest to find additional money. The system is set up that the male, especially if he is the sole breadwinner, is guilty of hiding money. That is the default assumption. It is then up to the male to prove otherwise. What a system; Prolong the process as much as possible to bill more. Then ensure he has to respond to countless requests and spend even more time trying to highlight mistakes they have made in their requests. They want to exhaust the male. To drive him into submission, into the “I give up” moment. It is the cruel sadistic game attorneys play. And the STBX, who has nothing to lose and everything to gain, stands happily in the background, the system has her back. Whether right or wrong, the system is in her corner, on her side. When I read stories of males who got taken to the cleaners, I am so disgusted. It really saddens me knowing there are many males out there going through the same excruciating process, if not worse.

While this whole thing I am going through is exhausting, it amuses me, actually. It is like any other wild goose chase. And her lawyer bills keep racking up. And you know who will pay for those bills? Yep, yours truly. Isn’t that sad and ironic at the same time? The lawyer bills for going after you, and then bills more when you respond, then bills more for more requests. Then asks the court for you to pay for all the billing.

In another post, I wrote about my current mindset, which is that I already won this war. I explained that there is a price to pay for my peace, and that I have accepted the steepness of that price. While we still have a few more months to go, I have seen the desired outcome. I tell you what - it excites the hell out of me. Everytime I get a taste of that peace, it reinforces my smile. It tickles me. I love it.
