Also, she can't take the child and not let her see you. She needs to get in touch with you as you have rights to the child as well and arrange visits.

Step1: Go online, and/or ask anyone you trust who may know to find not just a Family Law Attorney, but a good one, in your area.

The laws regarding your situation vary from state to state AND are also dependent upon the judge(s) who handle the cases - they have a lot of latitude and their personal biases and tenancies can impact things.

So what you want to do is consult with an attorney that a) knows the laws in your state/county and b) is familiar with how that usually play out in your specific court system (as well as with law enforcement, CPS, etc) and take your question of "what do I do now?" to them.

Before you do though - determine what your desired end goal is, and your biggest concerns are. An attorney is a like a power tool - they are hired by you to do your bidding, so going in with a blank question "what do I do now?" without any idea of the result you want is not the best idea.

Go quickly, because she's got a head start and some of the stuff she did she probably wasn't supposed to. Ask your attorney about what actions to take.

Step 2, but at the same time as Step 1: Document, Document, Document! the recent events. The timeline, etc. Some of this could be useful in the conflict ahead in court. She doesn't have a right to all the marital assets, and that'll have to be accounted for later.

Step 3: Protect what you have left. New Bank account she doesn't have access to. Figure out what important documents she took, and which one you have. Secure those, and get the list of the former to your attorney to get back the ones you'll need. Secure anything you can't afford to lose. Get her off accounts (utility, credit card, etc) that she could use to mess with you.

Step 4: there will be time to get emotional later. Right now you gotta protect yourself, and your kid.
