Female autism is underdiagnosed, and a huge contributing factor is that the criteria for diagnosis is based on little boys who are very obviously autistic. Because of this, many men and boys also go undiagnosed.

But perhaps the fact women and girls 'go undiagnosed more often' suggests that perhaps women and girls are less hindered by it than men and boys.

I mean... girls do hit puberty slightly earlier on average
