Why the fuck do these nut jobs always call this a “movement”

Do they even know what that means? There is no “movement” nobody is moving or cares about this in real life. Nobody even really knows about this.

People can’t even pay their bills these days let alone involving themselves in a “movement”.

Don’t these chronically online loons not have bills to pay !?😭

A lot of them are paying their bills with your taxes, e.g. by living on disability because of their psychosomatic illnesses, or illnesses that they have consciously fabricated, or their real, legitimate illnesses (in which case it becomes very understandable why they spend so much time online, if leaving home is actually a major undertaking). Or they could be retired, or living on inherited wealth.

It's a big world; lots of people have life circumstances that are different from yours. Just because you, and the people with whom you interact on a day-to-day basis, are struggling to pay bills and don't care about identity-based grievance theories, doesn't mean that the rest of the world, or even the rest of your own neighbourhood, is like that.

Bizarre how they get mad with the men who get offended with the women who choose the bear- they view the men who get offended by being considered more threatening than a deadly animal as “misogynists”… I’m all for calling out instances of real misogyny where it happens, but the men who say it’s ridiculous to choose the bear aren’t being misogynistic- they’re being logical- the folks in that sub are being misandrist- I saw one comment that practically blatantly said “we don’t like you” or “we hate you”- something along those lines; I don’t want to bring myself to click on it again. Woman here who loves men.

There’s also, as is expected from subs like that, somebody complaining about the “not all men” guys- if you’re lumping men as a collective category and blaming them as a whole for things the majority of them haven’t done, of course it’s reasonable for a man to retaliate with “not all men”. These feminists then start to argue about semantics then- “men doesn’t mean every man”…. but I bet people don’t apply those same semantics to mass generalisations about women. If somebody uses “women” as a plural term without the quantifier “some”, we rightly assume that they mean women as a collective as they haven’t indicated otherwise, therefore “not all women” would be a reasonable response.

I can guarantee you that the same people who say to the (logical) not all men crowd that “men is just a plural for more than one man- it doesn’t mean every man in the world” are the same ones who (rightly) see mass generalizations about women collectively as misogynistic… none of them apply that logic that they use about men. You never hear a feminist say “women is just a plural for more than one woman and doesn’t mean every woman in the world” because when it’s comments that disproportionately affect their own demographic, they realise how stupid it is to try and use that semantics argument to justify prejudice. A woman would be well within her right to say “not all women” to somebody making offensive insinuations about women as a collective group/treating them as a hive mind.

The main problem is that a lot of the women who have issues with the “not all men” phrasing when men defend themselves against mass generalizations, would be the first to exclaim “not all women” to defend themselves against mass generalizations.

The same way if somebody lumped black people into one category and said “I hate black people- they’re thugs”, people would rightly be calling out as racist and quite rightly pointing out that not all black people are bad. The ones who’d call it out if it was racism are the same feminists who exhibit sexism when men are concerned (e.g “I hate men- they’re abusive rapists”). Not one of those feminists would try to justify somebody’s hatred or generalizations for black people the way they do with their own hatred for men. They wouldn’t be arguing over the semantics and trying to say “black people simply means more than one black person”… because they realize that justifying racism like that would be extremely insensitive and offensive.

I’m prepared for the “pick me” comments to inevitably come my way.

I love how disappointed so many of them are b/c their significant other refused to be emotionally-terrorized by the absurdity of illogical women choosing the bear. LMBO! There’s hope for men (in the West) yet!

[[was in front of about 16-20 women when the convo came up & you could hear a rat piss on cotton when I said]]

“Ladies, the lone point you are missing is that men will never have a serious conversation on any sincere topic that needs a genuine resolution EVEN IN AN EMERGENCY at the expense of logic & reason. Never.”

It was as if I had just discovered fire in front of them. Lol - one of ‘em said “my husband said the same thing; like his deductive reasoning & problem solving shuts off when I wanna obsess over something I’m FEELING that just doesn’t make sense”. . .& there it is.

So men aren't capable of being swayed from logic and reason by their own feelings? They're always 100% calm and dependable under pressure? I'm against treating men as subhuman but let's not try to say that one gender is more logical

[–]christina_murray_[M] 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This- I’m all for calling out instances of misandry but let’s not try and enforce a “gender war” here- men and women are on the same team

Men are just as susceptible to unreason as women
