What are your thoughts about "Thinking Ape" from YouTube?

I'd prefer to watch content that teaches myself and others how to combat these biases, how to have better mental health, how to think and be stronger, how to have good financial habits, etc. Any sensationalized stuff isn't normally good for good development.

I've been a subscriber of his for like 10 years(he used to be stardusk), he has been around a while, earlier videos were interesting but new ones are mostly boring and depressing with his monotone voice which is getting harder to listen to. I don't even listen to some of them now because I'm trying to cut negativity out my life. He seems kinda odd. Born in the US, never learned to drive, didn't like US life, moved to Korea and worked as a translator, had a girlfriend but it didn't work out, think he lives in europe now and is poor, no friends/family, maybe works as a translator still, I'm not sure. I might be wrong about some of the details but that's what I remember from the drips and drabs over the years. There's also an alleged picture of him from long ago. He is sorta short, completely bald, white, and I think he might be autistic but I don't know.

Maybe you'll get some comments from people that are familiar with his material, but at the same time, thoughts on any particular Youtuber are an endless treadmill. I hope whatever you find helps with being able to critically evaluate others in the future. Maybe even better if it helps tune or figure out other ways to interact with the algorithm more to your own benefit.

In the mean time, 5 or 10 other youtubers will be popping up in his place. Each of them will be turning out hours of fresh content every week. How else can we approach this stuff so that it doesn't turn into a full time job just to have to be familiar with all of their opinions in order to meaningfully choose a course?

The titles and pics for his videos are really good but honestly his content is boring. He just says the standard incel stuff while being kind of boring and he doesn't produce a lot of data.

He’s a great, caring guy with great, accurate information. I don’t think I’ve missed a YT episode of his in three years.
