Why do men fall for the RP? Why did you fall for the RP?

Here are a few of my thoughts, pleas criticise my ideas or add your own reasons why.

  • in every good lie, there is a grain of truth The RP does touch on some truths (fathers being treated unfairly in family court, etc)

  • it can help in the short term Telling men to go to the gym will help them (but the problem is, is that you don't need to RP to go to the gym)

  • they're looking for a community or a sense of belonging

  • lack of father figures in their lives I see lots of comments on RP videos saying "you're like the father I never had"... is this a coincidence?

  • hurt by a bad relationship or marriage Just because one woman acted in a certain way (cheated, betrayed, etc) doesn't mean all women are like that (but RP says otherwise)

  • blame shifting Lots of RPers were in relationships which went bad; RP teaches that it wasn't the man's fault, it was the women being true to their "hypergamy" nature; RP says "If only women were more submissive/more chaste/more XYZ, then there wouldn't be this problem"

  • easy solutions to complex problems Society is facing huge issues in the past century, RP offers easy solutions to enormous problems (classic sales tactic)

  • good marketing / sex sells Flashy cars, wealthy lifestyles, outrageous claims, all with the promise of getting more sex and women. They're not so much selling the RP as they are all the flashy things and women which (supposedly) come with the RP

What are your thoughts? What sucked you into the RP? (And what dragged you out?)
