I just finished reading a book by Dylan's mother. I feel so awful for her. She had no idea what he was actually like. (Some people who've read the book think she must be lying about that, but to me it seems like it is probably true - who looks at their own child and thinks, "Oh yeah, since he's down in the dumps he'll shoot up a school"? I don't know anybody who thinks that about their boys.)

Obviously I don't want to take away from the pain of the parents who lost children (or of the wife of the teacher who was murdered, and all the other deeply traumatized people) - and yet I can't help but sympathize with Sue Klebold since it must be horrific to realize your own child was an absolute monster. I just can't even imagine knowing I'd given birth to a creature like that.
