so i went on a fist date with a man last week an it went really well. we set up plans for our second date. which was for me to come over to his place, i didn’t really mind since his family would be home. we were gonna get take out and watch a movie that i’ve been wanting to watch. btw he gave me multiple idea options besides a movie at his place so i wouldn’t label it as a red flag.

unfortunately i had to cancel our second date only a few hours before the date since i got called into work. im looking for a different job, but in the meantime i just have to deal with the difficult and somewhat demanding schedule. i called him and explain and apologize he sounded understanding and said he was sorry i had to deal with all the stuff with my current job. we then continued texting but he seemed less friendly and didn’t say goodnight the way he usually does. the next day he asked me which day this week we should meet, i told him i won’t know until saturday what my schedule is. we continued texting but then he just stopped responding mid conversation in the evening. i expected him to reach out the next day saturday, and say that he fell asleep and pick up our convo but he didn’t. we didn’t text saturday. now it’s sunday i texted him earlier today as i wanted to set up our next date since i know what my days off are this week. but he didn’t reply. i then went on the dating up we met on and saw that he unmatched me.

i’m pretty confused tbh. i’ve never had a man ghost me before and i’ve used OLD on and off for years. this man really seems high value and i was pretty excited to get to know him more but totally blindsided by him ghosting. i’m thinking it’s due to me not having a lot of free time and an unpredictable schedule, but if that’s the case why couldn’t he just tell me that and we could’ve parted ways on a decent note instead of ghosting.

any thoughts or advice? was i wrong to prioritize work and canceling only a few hours before the date? do HVM ghost? or is ghosting a sign of being low value?
