Padme was terribly written. She would have been such a kickass character - political leader, resistance fighter, stylish and sophisticated. But no. She had to fall for bad boy Anakin even after he blew up about how he killed all the Tuscan raiders. Not just the men, but the women and the children too.
And he acted like a total ridiculous clown the whole time, downright r*pe eyed her and went past her boundaries every single time. And for this she was rewarded with being murdered (sorry, dying from sadness because he had shown his true colors) and then her two kids grew up separated and alone.
This kinda nonsense in pop culture bothers me. It apologizes and normalizes male violence and the right female response - stay, try to help him, and then whine when he breaks your heart. Ugh.
Padme, you deserved better.

UGH! YES! I hated how she went from Queen, to bad ass senator who fought at the beginning of the clone wars, to barefoot, pregnant, and, Dying over a CHILD MURDERER!

Oh no, they very much have a clue...of what their fantasies are about strong women. Barefoot and pregnant, then dead. It’s exactly what they want for strong-willed women.
