This morning I woke up to my brother throwing a tantrum like a toddler. He is 17. He was yelling and wining about his classes. He usually reacts like this towards things that don't go his way. I never thought anything of it when I was younger but recently I have been actively learning and fighting against the patriarchy. This has brought me to realize how despicable his behavior is, and my parents let this happen. My mom babies him and my dad just doesn't pay attention. I can remember from a young age the favoritism in my house. My brother was always given more and my and my sister were SOL. My mom harassed my sister about so much to the point where she purposely acted out. She even ran away many times and moved out at age 16 to get away from the house. I remember always hearing my mom talking about her clothes. I internalized a lot of the things she said to her. For years I was terrified to be feminine because of what my mom had said. We were not allowed to where red nail polish or lipstick because men would stare at us. My mom told me that when I was 5. I am barely letting myself be feminine again because I know that if I let it control me I will forever be insecure and sad. All of the things that society has told me, my mom pushed them to me more. I developed an eating disorder for a while, never got diagnosed like the rest of my mental issues that probably should be, but I still deal with it today. I hate my relationship with food but it's not my fault. I was raised to this. I was conditioned to be this way. This is not my fault, but I am gonna fix it. I am gonna pick myself up and put me back together.

(This is my first ever post on Reddit so I don't know what I am doing. Sorry for any misspelled words)
