Maybe I’m just crazy for thinking this, but when a guy I barely know starts asking tons of intimate questions like “Do you miss me?” “Do you think of me?” “How much do you like me?” It immediately makes me uncomfortable. We had just started talking and I liked him as a friend so far. Not even a week into talking yet and he continuously asks these questions.

At first I thought it was a bit strange, but I answered them to the best of my ability because every person is different when it comes to the dating world. During the first day of me giving him my number (he messaged me on FB), he asked me if I was use to being flirted with. I am to an extent, but I’m only human so stuff might fly over my head. I told him this and we continued talking.

Over just a few days he continues to ask me if I understand that he’s flirting with me. I do, but I don’t have to respond with flirting if I don’t want to, right? I want to get to know him before all of that and if I don’t then it just feels awkward and forced. I am then told that I seem uninterested.

Long, long, long story short, I felt like he was being needy and pushing towards liking him sooner than I would have naturally. I don’t like the feeling of being forced to think or feel something that isn’t really there. So, I put on my big girl pants and politely told him that I would like to just remain friends.

The dating world hasn’t treated me nicely. Before he messaged me, I was finally accepting the fact that I could be truly happy outside of a relationship. I still stand on my point that I do not want a relationship at any point right now.

This is my first time posting, so I apologize if it’s a bit all over the place.

I hope someone can take something from my experience and learn from it.

Don’t let people make you feel like you need to like them or be with them. Don’t allow yourself to force feelings that aren’t really there. My situation was very minor, but no matter what I told him, he continued to push.
