I think seeking a relationship with someone from a different country is in general a bad idea. First, it is too easy to miss signs of LVM behavior if you are not familiar with the subtleties of their culture. Second, with you being in his country, he will have the advantage due to knowing everything better. And finally, you have to wonder why he's looking to date a foreigner, it could be because the local women have caught on to his tricks and he can no longer fool them, so he has to resort to dating foreign girls. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just offering my opinion. Good luck in whatever you decide, and be careful.

Probably difficult with the locals. I would look for expats. Maybe you can make friends who introduce you to fancier places and people, if this is what you are looking for. If you find a man there to settle down is another question... I would just focus on your studies and having a good time first.

So, I did an internship in Korea and lived there for almost two years. I've talked to girls who have worked in Japan, and a couple who worked in China and Taiwan.

You need to be careful with the men you meet there. Some of them 'hunt' for white girls, because white girls have a reputation for 'putting out' easily. A lot of them will also have no intention of a serious relationship with you because their parents do not want them to settle down with a white girl. I was with a Korean man for five years, and when I met his parents (in Korea) they were pissed because supposedly I would keep him from his family because "white people don't care about their family".

On the opposite end, I was engaged to a Korean man and his parents even bought my engagement ring.

You can find good men there, but a lot of the ones who go out of their way to approach you will not have good intentions. You will probably be approached if you go out alone. Be careful about going out alone to bars/clubs at night.

As another comment already said, some guys in those countries prey on white girls because in their minds, white girls are all whores and will sleep with them.

My tips for you are to have high standards. Don’t take any shit. Don’t take any joke. Forget about three strikes - one red flag and he’s out.

Find places where HVM will hang out. Make HV friends who will lead you to these places. But always remember that just because someone is rich and educated doesn’t mean that he’s HV.
