Holy shit girls. I know that before I found this sub, I already applied a quite a few staples of FDS to my life. But wow, you queens opened my eyes to all the stuff I had missed before, and validated my view on stuff that my PickMe-environment disagreed upon with me.

I used to think it was sad that men wouldn't get complimented as much as we do. I used to feel sympathy when reading those threads where men answer a question or otherwise engage in a discussion about how often they're complimented. I used to feel compelled to go compliment guys in my class or at work when reading those.

Not anymore. I read some posts and comments on here about how it is always expected that women must fill that void with guys, because every women on this planet is supposedly showered in nice compliments every day. And you made me really realize; it is not our job, guys can compliment each other if they need it so badly. Women have been doing that for years now. And on top of that, even though I realize a lot of us get more compliments than the average dude(/redditor), I am pretty damn sure I am not the only woman that feels pretty uncomfortable while receiving a big chunk of those compliments, because they were made by men, that very obviously would say about anything to get me to sleep with them. Real, genuine compliments from men that are not just horny or within our inner circle of friends are probably just as rare to us as those threads make compliments out to be in general. But we still get enough compliments regardless, because women have learnt to support each other, lift each other up and to be more sociable, on top of being trained to be as likeable as possible with our costumer-service-facades.

Currently there is a thread like this on a certain dating sub. The first I've bothered to read since finding the FDS sub (long time lurker, still in the process of finishing reading all of the handbook, but I did make an alt account today to post/comment this sub as it says we should!). And damn, they really are shifting everything on women. 'I barely get complimented in general. GIRLS SHOULD STEP UP' and 'Girls don't ever compliment people themselves, though they get complimented upon all the time'. I feel like I am reading these with newly acquired eyes, wow. The vibe of these comments is really irking me, and now I read them as 'we give unsolicited compliments to women we deem worthy to fuck allllllllll the time ~even if it is to get in their pants~ , therefore we deserve to be complimented back just as much by these women!!!!!!' I tried to explain it a bit in comments to two of them. Let the downvotes come in. Just because I hope other women read it, and see that they are not born to serve men, and maybe some potentially HVM won't get dragged down to their level because of my comment (though his value would be questionable already because of it, but hey, I had to learn from you guys too).

This sub has been an eye-opener. Not only on the subject of compliments, but also a few other PickMe-behaviours/trails of thought I have been guilty of in the past and some specific red flags I hadn't thought of to look for myself. I dodged quite a few bullets already by being cautious right after I spotted these, thanks to you. And have been trying to pay the wisdom forward to my friends, which seems to work, they are starting to see they don't have to settle.

And ofcourse, last but certainly not least; all of your views and tips on leveling up. You are all so motivating and inspirational! This is an awesome community with kick-ass mods. Thank you, queens!
