Hi all :)
I was just thinking about a date I had with a guy a while back...
First of all, this guy offered the date to be at his apartment - he wanted to make us food (a pretty sweet idea).
I stayed there for a few hours, and then it got time for me to go home. He offered to call me an Uber.
(By the way, on my way to his place, I took mostly public transportation, and then Uber a few blocks. I let him think that I Uber-ed the whole way there.)
The thing is, I live pretty far, about 50 min driving, or 1.5 hours public transportation. For context, he lives in the city, at the time I was living outside the city in the suburbs. So the Uber was not going to be like a $20-30 ride, it was about 4x that much.
Anyway, so he asked me for an address to put in, (I gave him the address of some nearby street) and then after the screen loaded the travel details, he made a very distinctive face.. like his eyes widened for a sec, and then he said out loud "Oh wow... that's pretty far...." - obviously referring to how expensive the Uber must've been). Then he was like, "You took an Uber all the way here??" I replied with, "umm yeah..?" and then he went on a different app to check to see if it would be cheaper there.
My question: is making a comment (and facial/body language) about how expensive the price of an Uber is a red flag?
