Howdy all,

Had a question. So I met this guy over OLD about 8 months ago and we're both students. He's a PhD candidate for theoretical physics (so he's no bum) and I'm currently in school with intent to attend med school. I know he highly regards my intellectual pursuits, as he has told me such and we have great conversation about it. We also have been on fun dates together, going to museums and dinner - and he always tries to pay (even though we alternate dates, I pay for one, he does the other, because I never want anyone to feel as if I owe them anything). That being said, I am having a difficult time reading the situation. He goes to school closer to home so I am away in college often, and we always make it a point to see each other at each break. He always, and I mean always, is the first to indicate 'let's do this again' and 'when are your breaks' so we can see one another, and we enjoy our time together.

That being said, he isn't great with texting (albeit, I don't text back immediately either because I work two jobs and have better things to do) and hasn't really tried to make a move on me, which I do appreciate the respect. We have the same values and both don't want to rush into sex - we want to have the right person - (something we have talked about), which I really, really, like. That being said, I would have liked some verbal confirmation about where we are going just so I have a gauge on expectations. He has expressed trepidation in the past about LDR's so that might be a factor.

LET ME MAKE A NOTE: I'm not super emotionally invested in this. If we don't date, no big deal. If we do, great. I'm keeping my eyes and options open and I'm going on dates with others at school as well. I'm not into limiting myself until I get a man's commitment. He's just been the most consistent over the past chunk of a year or so, and since I don't have an older sister to talk to or an experienced girlfriend (all my friends are relationship and literal virgins like myself), I didn't know who to ask. Thanks a bunch <3
