I want to offer a small change in your thinking that can lead to healthier mental and emotional well-being. The language you use in life and dating matters especially the negative. When you use misogynistic language or normalize it a part of you internalize it. Additionally, sexist language by its existence reinforces and socializes sexist thinking and practices. Think about how we as a society talk about women and female oriented language. The worse thing you can call a man is a women or women part i.e. bitch, pussy, cunt, such a girl, twat,  man-up (implying the opposite women is bad), you (run, hit, cry, insert whatever word) like a girl, harpy, etc...sadly, the worse thing you can call a women or girl is a women or girl see the above examples. It is so normalized in society most never think twice. “Don’t be bitch”, “your so emotional are you on the rag?”, “crying like a girl”, “don’t be a pussy”, “your pussy whipped”, etc... even if we (Queens) don’t talk like this, we rarely correct it. What we permit, we promote. The normalization of women and girls as being less seeps in to your very being and will negatively affect you even if you don’t realize. One way I combat this is I remind myself that female, mind, bodies and parts are strong. The vagina stretch to accommodate a entire baby and goes back to normal. When have periods and bleed for days while still walking around and living life. Women don’t drop to the floor in agony at the slightest touch to their vulvas or breast. Unlike men who the slightest wind or touch to the testicles can bring a grown man to tears. Not only are balls weak, sperm is too. Just a slight change in temperature kills them. Testicles are extremely sensitive, weak, unable to handle any changes without bringing their host to tears. Women have a pain tolerance 7x higher than men. We can feed another life from our breast. Women are the strongest and very farthest thing from being weak or less-than. Which I’m sure is partly the reason why language is always telling women they are less and weak as it is pure projection on men’s part. When needed I intentionally use male tilted language such as “don’t be such a testicle” or “is your testosterone getting the best of you? You are being so irrational” when normal female negative language would be used or seen as acceptable. Since again the slightest brush can drop a full grown man. I try to avoid saying or allowing others (I put up this boundary and if someone breaks it I don’t associate with them) to use any negative female related language. This is also a good way to vet men if he thinks these things or says them he is misogynistic and thinks of women as less. I will sometimes give the benefit of the doubt to others in that they might not be aware or have thought about the  realities of how language affects everyone (especially women). I didn’t realize how misogynistic my language and thus thinking was until it was pointed out to me. However, once I was aware I have intentionally tried to change for the better. Once you know better you have to do better or you are condoning the the bad behavior or actions. Which I won’t abide in a partner or anyone in my life. I normally wouldn’t suggest even lowering yourself to use negative male or female adversed language. However, it is so common and normalized we have a responsibility (so long as it is safe to do so) to show others how messed up this daily normalization is. Unfortunately, sometimes people only learn by  experiencing something themselves. So by flipping the narrative it can sometimes make others understand how truly damaging this speech is.  Also every little fight against the patriarchy is a win. Even in reclaiming words like bitch as in she is a bad or boss bitch can be very problematic. However that is a post for a other day or another queen to address. In this post I am mostly covering insults, however, in the English language there are so many sexist words. I suggest looking into further. Here is a link to some of them http://sacraparental.com/2016/05/14/everyday-misogyny-122-subtly-sexist-words-women/

What other sexist language do you notice? How do you deal or combat it? What are other examples of this kind of normalized misogyny do you notice that others seem to be unaware of?
