I felt promoted to make a post about media and its impact on society per the post about reality television.

About Reality TV: "Reality" television is unfortunately like all media. It's sensationalist, hyperbolic, biased, and misogynist. Each narrative is curated to enforce cultural narratives about race and sex.

Think about social media influencers. They are "actors" too, are they not? Isn't that "real-life"?

90-day Fiance promotes Western exceptionalism. Big Brother normalizes voyeurism. The Bachelor centers whiteness and white experiences. The Real Housewives is literally the most sexist title, ever.

Video posts are a great framework to understand modern society. Whether it's reality TV, advertisements, journalism, or literature, it's important to understand the beliefs our societies were founded upon and the media that perpetuates it. I'd love to know the perspectives of all women. Asian women, what media influenced you? European women, what narratives were you shown? African women? South American women?

I've compiled examples that still resonate today:
