Hello FDS 👋

Kind of a rant if you’re down to read.

I’m an 18 y/o (F) in college and I guess you could say I had an...eye opening interaction with a coworker. This man was around his early 40s and I’m well, 18...less than half this man’s age. I think I was standing off to the side (doing what; I don’t remember) and he’d make a comment saying that I had a ‘nice and petite body’ and I responded with ‘thanks...?’ to which he said, ‘but don’t worry, it won’t last long. Just wait till you hit your 30s and 40s’. WTF WHO SAYS THAT?BUT THERES MORE !! I usually wear makeup to work; it makes me feel professional? Put together? Pretty? He would tell ask me to show up to work without makeup because ‘men don’t like it when they’re with a girl and they take off their makeup to reveal a completely different person’. I didn’t realize it at the time but it was complete ‘pickme’ behavior to agree to this; to prove and get validation that I was still attractive and looked like the same person without my makeup. Stupid me didn’t realize till much later but at that point I had already gone to work without makeup to ‘prove myself’. Anyways, maybe he liked what he saw cause he’d ask me to start showing up to work with no makeup full time. I felt that was inappropriate of him to request so I said no. This guy was old enough to be my dad. What was it to him to be making comments about an 18 y/o woman’s body and overall physical appearance? There was something I completely overlooked for a while...I never noticed because ig I was just that unobservant? He’d always wear a cap, beanie, or a hoodie pulled over his head. I didn’t say anything but for once I paid attention and saw him take off his hat for a second and put it back on. That glimpse I had though...oh wow. He had sparse hair on the sides of his head but dear god, under that cap. BALD?! Mostly bald? A HUGE A** BALD SPOT!!! I find it funny how some dudes complain about women as they age but fail to address the drawbacks to men aging: Hair loss/balding, erectile dysfunction, prostate cancer, beer bellies/dad bod, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised that some women wear makeup out of insecurity considering how high the standards are for women but it’s viewed as ‘deception’ and fakeup. When men have insecurities for...well, balding, it’s validated. ‘It’s not men’s fault for balding’ ‘It’s not men’s fault for being short’ ‘It’s not men’s fault for lacking ‘down there’ ‘ and lots of women pity them. But when women are overweight or ‘look like a completely different person’ under their makeup...>:(( !!! Anyways, I got a different job and I never have to see that prick again. Thanks for reading and end rant.
