I randomly came across FDS whilst browsing reddit one day. I was curious and decided to dig deeper. A lot of what was being talked about resonated deeply.

My boyfriend of 4 years broke up with me last month due to him not knowing what he wanted to do in life and feeling like he wasn't going anywhere. I admittedly was having a hard time making a full commitment (proceeding further past just hanging out a couple of times a week) due to his lack of financial stability. I adore the man and would love to build with him but realized I was better off letting him build on his own first. I work hard and run a business. I'm also on track for getting my conversion done for my CPL, so I'm basically just a busy ass person with no time for settling. We match perfectly in every other way, but whilst he was resenting me for not wanting to move further I resented his laziness and not actually doing anything with himself.

I found FDS after our break up and it was exactly what I needed. You showed me perfectly that I wasn't in the wrong to stick to my standards of what I ACTUALLY wanted. I wasn't wrong to feel like if a man wants me he needs to try harder. A few days ago I finally found my voice and told him that I couldn't be with him unless he was to sort himself out and have something to prove for himself.

We remain friends, but I refuse to look towards a relationship unless he gets his act together. I became aware of my worth. He promised he'd try harder and get himself sorted out. So I guess we just play the waiting game. I don't have interest in dating/casual sex in the meantime. I'd rather stay committed to one person. If it isn't with someone I feel strongly about, I'm more than content with just keeping busy with the things that are important to me and sticking to my goals.

Thank you ladies! <3
