As a general rule, make them chase you

That doesn’t mean you should ignore his texts in order to get a reaction. Answer in your own good time

If his double text is unhinged, for example “hello??” Are you ignoring me?” Etc. That’s intrusive and rude. Also a sign of desperation

If it’s a gentle nudge, for example “guess you’re busy, text me when you are free” That might just be him testing your interest level

It’s hard to give more advice without more background and context

If it’s 3 messages with no response from you -eager -2 msgs with no response from you=cute but if you are responding to 3 messages in an hour that’s just normal. Am I reading this right?

Two questions to think about:

does he do this often?

If yes, then it’s definitely a red flag and you don’t need to see the next question. If no, see the next question

what’s his double text about?

“You there? Hellooooo?” - Red flag. If he’s just adding another piece of information and only does it occasionally it’s probably fine
