I think it really depends. It seems to me that on this sub a lot of women are from completely different backgrounds and countries so it's hard to give one advice that fits all.

For example, the other day I read a woman here claim she really needed men to have a high income. Another woman came in and said income wasn't important for her as long as the guy had his life together. Turns out the first woman is from a third world country and she's making quality of life her priority. Different countries, different needs, different priorities, different strategies.

The only constant should be self respect, happiness and satisfaction.

So I come from a place (country and social class) where women are not shamed from enjoying sex and I've never had to suffer from getting in bed with a man. They never lost interest, and in fact were always a little to eager to commit for my liking. I had one night stands that genuinely wanted things to turn into something more serious and I had to turn them down. Socially, where I am guys don't think less of women that sleep with men (except virginal losers). It is just basic expectation that both sexes will enjoy having lovers. Religion is close to dead in my country and the virgin worshipping is seen as bizarre and creepy. I've never heard a man in my country talk about wanting a virgin. And the only women that are shamed are the ones that throw themselves at complete strangers but in fairness recklessness is not attractive on anyone. And guys are made fun of as well for that behavior (although a little less).

Waiting for sex is fun to build up a bit of frustration but in my experience, it has never been necessary to weed out the non serious partners. My redflag detector looks for other things.

I don't ever feel obliged to give sex (and I'm not afraid to say no) and I'm perfectly happy and satisfied with what I'm getting both physically and emotionnally. If I wasn't, then I might reconsider but I simply never had to.

But of course, this is my personal experience and advising another woman to do the same would have desastreous consequences depending on where the person lives. So I can only speak for myself when I say it works for me. And that's why I'm curious when other women talk of different strategies.
