Maybe you can relate.
"Feeling the need to please others, has been the death of ME.
Feeling the need to make others happy, has taken all of my happiness.
Trying to make others feel comfortable and safe, has made me feel uneasy and anxious.
Why do I need to make others feel okay? Who is making me feel okay?"
We as women have so much stacked against us. We constantly are told how we naturally think, feel, look, and love is wrong. So we self-correct to please whoever is mirroring us.
I'm a 27-year-old brown woman who has been told by men, I'm not attractive, I'm too clingy, I'm unattached, I'm "not like the others", I'm too emotional, I need to be more sexually loose, I'm beautiful- but not a model. I have dated men 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 years plus my age. Constantly changing for them, sometimes unknowingly, or just sitting in silence with the inability to even speak up for how I truly feel.
We should all demand better from our partners and ANY relationship that perpetuates the feeling that we are small because "they" decided so. The first time you feel like you should leave, leave. Choose yourselves, ladies, and concentrate on self-love and acceptance, because despite what the world is telling you; You are 1000% enough. Your thoughts are valid, and you should be respected in everyway possible.
