Elsewhere I remember seeing one study that found the gender sentencing gap goes back 300 years, but I would have to relocate that study.

This doesn't count as a meta-analysis but feminists say men are sentenced for longer times than women for the same crimes due to higher recidivism (re-offense) rates. See: group guilt vs judging individuals as individuals.

This recidivism argument is the very same rationale that racists explicitly use for why blacks are sentenced longer than whites for the same crimes.
