Unfortunately, the vast majority of people, including most feminists and those who say they promote gender equality, hold sexist traditional views on gender. It's so hard for many people to accept that men may be vulnerable and need protection. The traditional attitude that women must be protected and men can't be vulnerable and/or shouldn't complain is a large obstacle to gender equality, especially when it's promoted by large powerful organizations such as the Council of Europe, and especially when this type of sexism is disguised as anti-sexism.
