I come here with the perspective of someone who has been tracking subs that bring up gender issues (like this one). There is basically three main perspectives on Reddit:

  1. Manosphere: MRA, MGTOW, PUA, TRP, etc. These are the people that advocate for men's rights, often contrary or without regard to women's rights issues.
  2. Neutral: Most subs. These people are mostly those who don't know much about gender issues, and usually identify as feminist and believe in feminist Kool-Aid blindly. Western liberal media (and conservative media) too often portrays (straight, white) women as the victims, and men as the oppressors. They generally (blindly) oppose the "manosphere," but sometimes oppose the femosphere (below).
  3. Femosphere: Radical Feminist/FDS/wgtow/nametheproblem etc: We are familiar with these people as well. These are the rabid "feminist" activists that are transphobic, misandric assholes. They also present the greatest hypocrisy of Reddit policy, as these would easily be banned or quarantined if the genders were reversed

Now, this is a huge problem, as the VAST majority of Redditors have no clue on the issues each side presents. People need to take a nuanced approach, and Reddit can be a huge motivator for cultural change (the population of Reddit is as big as the US). I think that the goal of subreddits like this one is to venture out and try to combat misandry and misogyny throughout Reddit and try to bring a more practical, nuanced approach to tackling gender issues.
