I read a post on here earlier from one of you awesome lads, about a guy asking his girlfriend permission to buy a PS4.

I'm sad to say when I was married I had the same shit.

Today I went to pick out my new car. Yes since being divorced I've managed to recover enough financially where I'm buying my own flat and now it's time to upgrade my car.

I'm kind of proud because this is the first time I've ever bought a new car. It will be a Golf 7.

Let me remind you in a situation where my finances were in the shared domain - even if her contribution was much lower is not even true.

Infact to keep her pleased, everything had to be run past her. And she ended up making the final decisions anyway. It was either this or total chaos and bullshittery. I mean massive arguments, threatening to leave, etc.

And maybe that's the problem it was never a true partnership.

So I'm celebrating this milestone as a mark of true financial freedom and prosperity after divorce.
