I don’t understand how people are okay with this lifestyle. I am a 28 year old man working in an accounting department of a large corporation, 8:30am-5:30pm and am bored out of my mind. I do the absolute minimal effort, because I don’t get any reward for going above and beyond. It seems like my co-workers just work non-stop all day long and have no other interests. Glued to their computer monitors like they are hypnotized. Who fucking cares about work. More money means more stress and responsibility.

In American society, we are taught to work work work because of career career career and money money money. I am a single guy, who lives on my own, and makes enough to pay my rent and pay for my car. I don’t need more money. I hate working at a desk all day. It’s extremely unfulfilling and I have trouble concentrating at work because I just don’t care. I probably “work” 2 hours out of the 8 hour day. The rest is spent watching Youtube and dicking around on the internet. I don’t want to get married because I don’t want to be locked to this lifestyle. I’m considering down-sizing my job responsibilities (working part time, somewhere on my feet all day), and essentially go the minimalist route. I’d rather have more time to do fun things, bike around my city, play video games, play with my pet, hang out with friends, play piano, read a good book, go to the gym…you know… have a fucking life. You don’t need a lot of money to do these things.

I know if I get married my wife will be more motivated with work than I, and bitch about how I am lazy. Women have much more pride in their work because they are “strong independent women” and are “sticking it to the man’s patriarchal society”, and the world worships them. They want to prove that they are just as smart as men. As a man, we are just EXPECTED to work and make money, and get no thanks for it. There isn't any reward or incentive. It’s just a given that we are to have high paying careers… like we actually want these stressful unfulfilling jobs. Fine women, take my fucking job. You act like these white collar desk jobs are glamorous, they fucking suck. Why the fuck would you want to pass up the opportunity being a stay at home mom and look after your kids/do whatever the fuck you want at home all day, and not have to work? If I get married to one of these modern career woman, they will most likely be into their job WAY more than me, out-earn me, see me as inadequate, and divorce me. Fuck that.

tl;dr: I don’t want to get married because it will lock me to a boring desk job my whole life.
