Can relate. When my marrige ended (she cheated), I initially felt like I was a failure, that it was becasue I didn't try hard enough. After some time solo, I came to the realisation that I was happier on my own and didn't want her at all. That realisation was my "freedom" moment, and I have never looked back.

I actually know the chest pain, panic, and anxiety side of it. It compounds the shit from PTSD from military service and is yet another set of reasons I am working on my escape from the plantation. Hopefully those fellers recover from that shit. It isn't fun.
